Amethyst was my "gateway" stone, if you will. I got an Amethyst crystal in middle school and so began my love of the more "exotic" semi-precious stones (I was a pocket full of rocks kind of kid from the jump). When thinking about Amethyst, it's common to jump straight to it's intuition enhancing benefits. Did you know it's also been used as a calming, stress reliever? I love this about it... it's a stone that reminds us to take a breath, slow down, loosen our jaw, and shake out our shoulders. Our deepest spiritual moments come from a place of calm and release, of course.
