To nurture means "the process of caring for and encouraging the growth or development of someone or something." Imperial Jaspers are referred to as the "Supreme Nurturer" in the world of stones. What a lovely thing... to care for and to encourage growth. It is easy for our nurturing energy to be directed externally. What if we spent some time directing some of that sweet energy inward? Stone jewelry shouldn’t be worn in water or exposed to chemicals (soaps, lotions, detergents). I like to think of stones as living things (on much different time scales than the ones we are accustomed to). To extend their lives, we need to limit their exposure water and other chemicals/liquids.
