There is a flowering bush in my neighborhood, the flowers are a mess of yellows and pink. It reminds me of a different time, an antique flower brought into the current moment. The color combination is one that has, over the years of walking by it, come to symbolize summer for me. A season as seen through the veil of heat, light, fierce blooming.
