I have been thinking a lot about how to stay soft while also armoring myself against the constant barrage of news and chaos in the world... for me, it can be a challenge. Too soft feels unsafe, too tough feels disconnected. That balance where the heart and mind remain open, but protections are enough to ensure peace. Perhaps you, too, find striking this balance a challenge?
 
I love how this stone appears to embody this dichotomy... the softest pink in the Opal, a whisper. The geometric shape adding some unexpected toughness, a toughness that doesn't diminish the stone's gentle nature. A good role model.

Stone jewelry shouldn’t be worn in water or exposed to chemicals (soaps, lotions, detergents). I like to think of stones as living things (on much different time scales than the ones we are accustomed to). To extend their lives, we need to limit their exposure water and other chemicals/liquids.
