Labradorite is the "stone of transformation." I always think of butterfly wings when I work with it - the stone always seems to me to be holding the spirit of butterfly wings within. One thing I often remind myself when thinking of butterflies (I think of them often), is that before they find their wings, they go through a period of actual mush. The caterpillar literally decomposes into a mush in order to emerge, transformed, a butterfly. Transformation is beautiful, brutal business. And it essential if we ever hope to fly...
