I have recently been intrigued by new items that have the look and feel of something very old. From pottery that looks like it's just been uncovered from centuries in the soil, to textiles that show what appears to be decades of wear. I wanted this piece to have that feel... as if it were jewelry found in a long-forgotten treasure chest and rediscovered. Both ancient and brand new... a contemporary artifact.
